These days are now quite full. I am working again and managing our home and listening for the Lord in regards to these and our continued foray into night-and-day prayer. I was invited to participate in the Metrolina (i.e. Charlotte-area) Regional Prayer Council (I think its capitalized) and we are having our second meeting tomorrow. Its a great mix of prayer leaders and I am convinced God has His hand on this group for His purposes in the area. There were around 15 prayer leaders and I anticipate a few more joining in. Our first meeting was a time of meeting each other and listening and praying a little while. It was terrific from my perspective.
I am reading "A Cloistered Walk" by Kathleen Norris; its a provoking writeup on her thoughts and experience as a Protestant who became a Benedictine oblate (oblate in Mirriam-Webster's dictionary: a layman living in a monastery under a modified rule and without vows). Quite an experience the woman appears to be having, God healing her soul and her marriage even while her husband is out of the country. From where I am and where I recognize we are heading, I find the Benedictine Rule also some good food for thought. She also writes from a non-Evangelical perspective so her language and interpretation of God's interaction/interruptions are very distinct and flavored differently than the way I would convey them. She has a strong creative bent and has been bruised by others when she did not routinely "fit in" as she journeyed into adulthood. Her transparency is offered as she allows the reader to work with her through certain catalytic events as she participated regularly in the life of a monastery.
Peripherally but significant to me, I am still learning my new blog tools for my new blog... I'm getting it ready for the transition. I think web design is a kick... its amazing what you can express in this forum. Thanks for hanging around... and I did catch your shoutout, BTW, Jon.
